The 2 hour experience offers unparralelled viewing of this spectacular race. Not only will you witness the jostle at the starting line but our vessel also has the capabilities and the speed to follow the competitors out of the harbour and off the coast, into the open ocean. We will track south with the race leaders and follow them down the coastline past the world famous Bondi Beach possibly as far as Maroubra Beach.

Departs from Campbell’s Cove Pontoon at Circular Quay.

Capacity will be limited to 21 passengers to allow for good viewing. Vessel licensed to carry 30 passengers.

In can become quite rough out in the open ocean so this is not for the faint of heart.

Departing Circular Quay 30 minutes before the race start giving us plenty of time to move into a perfect position.

You will be taken on an exciting and unforgettable journey to see the whales in their natural habitat on a giant purpose-built, military spec, fast boat.

Your high-speed whale watching boat departs from Circular Quay before turning up the power and blasting towards the open ocean. After punching through the heads and into the Tasman Sea, you’re taken on a high-speed cruise out to see the whales – your skipper is in constant contact with other boat drivers to find the most friendly and approachable whale pods.

*All passengers must be at least 12 years old. Our other vessel, OSPREY, has a minimum age of 6 years old.

OSPREY is our new vessel in 2023. Departing at the same time as Extreme II, the two boats will work together to find the most active and approachable pods. Osprey is a similar size & can travel a similar speed to Extreme II but it has a roof, regular seating and a bit more room to move around.

Let us show you the world famous Bondi Beach like no one else can! After passing all of the beautiful landmarks that Sydney Harbour has to offer you will be taken out of its calm waters and into the open ocean.

After rounding south head and exiting the harbour you'll stop for a close up view of 'The Gap.' From there, you will be taken south along the 5km of incredible Sydney coast line all the way down to one of the world's most recognised beaches. After a long and sweeping turn, the vessel will pull in for a memorable photo opportunity you won’t get anywhere else – the water and sand being your backdrop.

Only Ocean Extreme can take you there! This experience takes place of either our Extreme or Orca vessel depending on passenger numbers.

This is not a joy/thrill ride, it is an offshore coastal, sightseeing tour however it can get quite exciting on days with a bigger swell.
